VA claims forms and that's my way of giving back and thanking soldiers and veterans for their service.

About Me

My name is Tricia Bear. I served in the military 21 years and retired as a Sergeant First Class in 2014. I served 4 of those years in the Marine Corps and the remaining 17 on active duty for the Arkansas Army National Guard. I was assigned to the following units: 2nd Marine division HQBN Communications Company at Camp Lejuene, North Carolina; Fort Chaffee Maneuver Training Center and 2/142 Field Artillery 937th FSC at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas; and the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was while stationed at the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team I was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in 2008.

In the media section of this website, you will find the song “March on Soldiers”. This is a song that I wrote for my brother, Teddy Samuel Bear, who was also a Marine assigned to the 2nd Recon Battalion at Camp Lejuene, North Carolina. In Gadsden, Alabama 1999, Teddy (at the age of 29) was held down and shot in the back of the head by a bully.

Also, in the media section you will find the American Spirit video. There are two parts to this video: the song “March on Soldiers” that I wrote, and MSG Del Ford’s song “Country, God, and Flag” which he wrote and sang. Many of the pictures in this video were taken by me during my time in the service.

Currently, I am a culinary student at the OSU-IT College in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you about an organization I believe in called: Take Courage Coaching.

Take Courage Coaching is by far the best coaching program I've ever been through. It has helped me deal with many things including: the loss of loved ones by both death or by alienation, deployment issues, and any other challenge that has been put in front of me. It has also helped me get off two prescribed narcotics for neuropathy and given me the coping skills to go back to college at the Oklahoma State University Culinary Program in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

It only takes one and a half hours a week of your time through a conference call and an individual coaching session. This program is life changing. Sara from California was my coach and I highly recommend her because she's very good at finding the positive in whatever problem you’re going through.

The Take Courage Coaching program teaches you the techniques that will help you not only deal with complicated pain issues but also; goal setting, improving sleep, breathing techniques, improving automatic negative thoughts, self-compassion, time-based pacing, importance of exercising, gratitude, assertiveness, re-framing (which is a new perspective), social support, writing the pain away through expressive writing (which is how I write poems), stress management, managing pain medication, forgiveness, the power of the mind, respiration and inspiration, and pain control.

If interested in the Take Courage Coaching program check out their website at or call (406) 586-0540. Remember, it's a sign of strength...not weakness to be able to ask for help and Take Courage Coaching is your life solution that will give you the coping skills you need to overcome any challenge.
