Veterans Fighting for Veterans' Rights
Tricia Bear of Henryetta: Supporting Fellow Veterans
For many veterans, the transition from military to civilian life can be filled with challenges—navigating healthcare, securing benefits, and finding a new sense of purpose beyond service. Fortunately, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, there are individuals like DAV/VFW veteran service officer Tricia Bear who dedicate their time and effort to ensuring that fellow veterans receive the support and resources they deserve.
A retired Army veteran, Tricia Bear knows firsthand the struggles that service members face after leaving active duty. Having served her country for 21 years with honor, she has taken on a new mission: advocating for veterans' rights, providing assistance, and making sure no soldier is left behind.
A Passion for Service Beyond the Military
Tricia's advocacy for veterans goes beyond just offering a helping hand—she is a voice for those who feel unheard. Whether it's navigating the often-complicated VA system, connecting veterans with job opportunities, or ensuring they have access to proper medical care, she is relentless in her pursuit of justice and fair treatment for those who have served. Her commitment to supporting veterans is seen in various community efforts, including organizing resources for those in need, working alongside local veteran organizations, and spreading awareness about issues that affect former service members. She believes that no veteran should struggle alone and is determined to make a difference.
Veterans Helping Veterans
Veterans advocating for their own is one of the most effective ways to ensure their rights are upheld. Having walked the same path, Tricia and others like her understand the unique challenges of military service and reintegration into society. Through her work, she empowers other veterans to speak up, take charge of their benefits, and seek the assistance they are entitled to.
She is also involved in initiatives that provide practical support, such as helping veterans transition into civilian careers, securing housing assistance, and providing mentorship to younger service members returning home.
A Community That Cares
Henryetta has a strong community of veterans, many of whom are actively engaged in local support groups and advocacy efforts. Tricia continues to encourage fellow veterans to unite, build connections, and foster a support system that ensures no one is left behind.
She firmly believes that when veterans stand together, they become a force for change. As the fight for better services, medical care, and recognition of veterans' needs continues, individuals like Tricia Bear serve as a reminder that the commitment to service does not end with a military contract. Through her dedication, she upholds the values of honor, duty, and sacrifice—ensuring that all veterans in Henryetta and 20 other Oklahoma towns and beyond receive the respect and care they deserve.
For veterans in need of assistance or those who want to get involved, Tricia encourages reaching out to her at (479) 414-0952 or through local veteran organizations and support networks. Because together, they can make a difference and change the world.

Cancer...Cancer...
Look the other way.
Leave me to live the good life
I was meant to live today.
I will focus on how far I've come,
Not on how far I have to go.
"Quitting is not an option"
in my positive mind and soul.
Cancer...I'm in charge here,
And your presence I shall ignore....
Being healthy is my priority..
and fighting you is my chore.
Sadness surrender to laughter
and take away my tears.
Stress don't leave me worried,
because I'm letting go of my fears.
When the end of the road has come
An the gates of heaven are ready for me,
I don't want any rights in a tearful room.....
Why cry for lingering pain and a soul that's now set free.
